MetaMask’s long-rumored native token remains a topic of active discussion, though no definitive plans have been confirmed. Co-founder Dan Finlay teased the possibility during a recent podcast interview, responding with a coy "Maybe" when questioned about the token’s development. The remark signals ongoing internal deliberations at Consensys, MetaMask’s parent company, which has championed progressive decentralization across its platforms since at least 2021.

Consensys CEO Joseph Lubin previously hinted at the token’s potential through social media posts, aligning with broader efforts to decentralize MetaMask’s ecosystem.
